Stars as constructions- Leona Lewis. She was on XFactor in 2006 and became the winning artist. First when she came on the show in 2006 she was a scrawny looking girl she looked a bit rough. However, towards the end of the show she somewhat started looking very classy and elegant. Her style changed the way the XFactor judges wanted. She is still being told what to do. As the two images show before Leona came on XFactor she had very curly hair she was quite fair and wore minimal make-up. However, during XFactor the whole of her identity changed. She became more tanner, her curly hair was gone. Her dress sense had changed from simple to sexy. And there was an increase in make-up. This shows she was constructed in this way in order to be sold to the public.

Stars as products : Backstreet boys would be a prime example of being products. There looks were all changed in order to be sold. Backstreet were famous all over the world due to their looks. They were the older version of New direction. They were very successful however, now they are not a group anymore. There looks were changed all the time to what their audience which was mostly young females would like. Many people brought there posters in which they were shirtless which again shows they were products.







Stars as embodiments of ideologies and cultures: John Lennon was very famous for his ideologies about peace and equality. He was know worldwide for this but also being part of the famous band 'The beetles'  Till this day he is still spoken about and know for the spiritual person he was. Due to this he fits Dyers star theory.

stars as personalities: Kanye West has been know all over the world for his personality. He is egoistic and a narcissist who believes he is better than everyone else. I admire his confidence. He does not care about what people think and an example would be when he interrupted Taylor Swift's speech inn 2009 saying Beyonce's music video was better. Kanye has made an image of himself. He has been seen beating up paparazzi and is know for his personality.
